Closure Announced for the South Alaska Peninsula Area State-Waters Pacific Cod Pot Gear Season

Date Issued: 03/23/2014 – Emergency Order 4-GF-10-14

The South Alaska Peninsula Area state-waters Pacific cod season for all vessels using pot gear will close at NOON Monday, March 24, 2014. Inseason catch estimates indicate the pot gear harvest allocation will be attained at the time of the closure.

Fishermen are reminded that all groundfish pots must be open and unbaited at the time of the closure. Following the closure, open and unbaited pots may be stored at any depth for up to seven days. After seven days, all groundfish pots must be removed from the water or stored open and unbaited in waters not more than 25 fathoms deep.
