Position: Instructional Aide
Location: Sand Point School
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree or 48 or more college credits, or Pass a Paraprofessional Test of skills
18 years or older

Responsibilities:
The class room aid will work to assist in providing quality education. Duties may include, but may not be limited to: instruction under direction of a certified teacher, organizing daily lessons, correcting papers, and participating in screening and student assessment. The Aide must work successfully with children, communicate with parents in parental visits to school, direct and be capable of maintaining control of students in order to help promote an effective educational environment.
Terms of Employment: Range IV, $14.01 to $17.20 per hour, DOE. Hours per week to be determined.

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife is allowing for a permitted hunt of 20 caribou on Unit 9 D. By consensus of a meeting of the communities of Cold Bay, False Pass, King Cove, Nelson Lagoon, Sand Point each community will be allowed 4 caribou. The Qagan Tayagungin Tribe is coordinating a lottery for the Community of Sand Point’s 4 Permits. Anyone wishing to enter the lottery please contact the Qagan Tayagungin office at 907-383-5616 or QTTAdmin [at] arctic [dot] net.
Entries must be received by 9:00 AM, July 26th!
All residents of Sand Point are eligible to enter this lottery. Individuals must be a resident of Alaska for minimum 1 year, and a resident of Sand Point for 30 days. Per our discussion at the meeting, we are asking that people who harvest a caribou share with some of the elders in the community.

Position: Administrator Assistant
Status: Part-time, Permanent (20 to 25 hours per week)
Compensation: (DOE)
Supervisor: Pauloff Harbor Tribe Administrator and/or President
Job Description: Works under the direction and supervision of the Tribal Administrator and/or Tribal President. Performs general secretarial and bookkeeping duties, payroll, receiving/dating/mailing correspondence, typing, filing, answering telephone, copying. prepares written reports in required format, manual and computer data entry for accounts receivable and payable, help with travel arrangements for staff, tribal council and clients, assist administrator with grant preparation, purchase equipment and supplies needed, keep office area neat, attends and records all tribal council meetings assista with tribal elections, performs other clerical duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Ability to deal with general public. Able to demonstrate dependability, good judgement skills, and ability to perform assigned duties. Ability to take direction. General Knowledge and ability to operate office machines and equipment. Have knowledge of computer operations. Ability to read and prepare written reports in required format. Be able to organize work, giving attention to priorities and performing duties effectively under pressure. Willing to take training and attend workshops periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Must be neat in appearance. Must be punctual. Have a valid Alaska Driver’s License. Have interest in and general knowledge of Native lifestyle and culture.
Physical Demands: Requires sitting, use of hands and fingers, stooping and crouching. Requires lifting up to 70 pounds.
