Appointed:2013 to fill seat vacated by Luke Meinert
Pastor Scott Morgan is a lifetime fisherman who has drifted his way from Bristol Bay to the Aleutians East Borough. Until 2012 Scott resided in Seattle, Washington but an opportunity to serve the Sand Point Baptist Church as its Head Pastor brought him and his wife Judy here for the long term.
The short handed Sand Point Eagles finished strong on Friday evening, defeating the Unalaska Raiders by a score of 71-44. The team flew to King Cove to play the Raiders. The Eagles could only suit up seven players for the game. The Raiders were young, quick and feisty. The game was within 10 points for most of the first three quarters. However, the Eagles were able to dig down deep and finish strong, outscoring their opponent by a score of 30 -9 in the fourth quarter. All seven players scored, played hard, and contributed equally.
Matt Bravo scored a game high 25 points and added a season high 14 assists. Keith Wilson continued his string of double doubles with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Other scoring included: Colten Mack (10), Evan Wilson (9), Deion Osterback (7),Jeremiah Wilson (4) and Maynard Maglaya (2).
The Eagles have back to back games today, starting with Unalaska at 11:00 and a game scheduled for 1:00 with King Cove.
