Scoping Meetings for Proposed Land Exchange and Road Corridor in the Izembek Wildlife Refuge Begin This Week
This week, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service kicks off scoping meetings for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) regarding a land swap of thousands of acres in exchange for a small gravel road corridor from King Cove to the Cold Bay Airport through the Izembek Wildlife Refuge. The first meeting is planned for Anchorage at the Loussac Library from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010.
