Hello-
This week, the Senate Finance Committee focused our work on the FY12 Operating budget. All subcommittees reported their recommendations to the full finance committee; public testimony was held where over 245 citizens across the state participated. In consideration of public testimony, I amended the operating budget and added $326,100 to the UAA Recruitment and Retention of Alaska Native Nursing Program. The bill has moved out of Senate Finance and will now be scheduled for consideration of the Senate. This brings us a step closer in the budget process to the 24-hour rule. I will report more on the Operating budget once the entire process is complete.
