I appreciate his willingness to participate in the political process and wish him and his family all the best in the future. Now is the time for us to band together and really make a difference.

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young voted yes today on H.R. 5822, making appropriations for military construction, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill provides $141.1 billion in FY 2011 funding. The measure provides funding for Department of Defense activities, including $13.7 billion for military construction, $1.8 billion for family housing, and $1.3 billion in emergency funds for construction activities in Afghanistan. The Department of Veterans Affairs would receive the bulk of the funding at $120.8 billion. This bill also includes language, similar to language inserted by Rep.
