Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young has introduced H.R. 4837, the No Child Left Behind Improvements Act. This bill offers improvements that address many of the unintended consequences of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) while holding states and school districts accountable. The bill contains over forty provisions, focused on five areas: assessments, measuring adequate yearly progress, sanctions, state flexibility by the U.S. Department of Education, and non-public schools.

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young is proud to announce the addition of Sgt. Joshua Revak to his Anchorage staff. Josh comes to Rep. Young’s office through the U.S. House Wounded Warriors Program run through the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer. Josh just relocated to Anchorage from Minnesota with his wife and two children, and is scheduled to be with the office through February 2012.

many issues vital to Alaskans including the risk of socialized medicine, the importance of improving Alaska’s infrastructure and the need for a long-term surface transportation bill.
