Anchorage, Alaska. August 27, 2010 -- A tweet went out today from Joe Miller's Twitter account, the intent of which was to encourage the Libertarians to stay true their party's values and not to allow Senator Murkowski to run under their banner. It linked to an article in the Daily Caller saying the two were in discussions.

Anchorage, AK- Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) today called on Joe Miller to cease making accusations that an attorney from the National Republican Senatorial Committee and observers are attempting to skew the results of Alaska’s Primary Election. Miller has repeatedly accused Murkowski and the Republican Party of trying to steal the election.

U.S. Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski are soliciting names of candidates to replace an Alaska District Court judge whose seat will be open when he moves to senior status next March. The senators will work with the Alaska Bar Association to accept applications and conduct a Bar poll of Alaska lawyers. Each plans to make individual recommendations to the White House.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Legislation to extend the current moratorium on a permit requirement for commercial and charter fishing vessels and other commercial
vessels under 79 feet long, sponsored by U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Barbara Boxer, D-California, has been signed into law. The bill, signed by President Obama late Friday, provides these commercial vessels a three-year moratorium extension from permits for discharges under the Clean Water Act.
