June 7, 2010 Senator Begich Newsletter

Posted: June 21st, 2010 | Author: KSDP Public Affairs | Filed under: 2010, 2010

Spending a week back in Alaska is just what I needed to prepare for the coming weeks of legislative work. As we work to finish Wall Street reform legislation we will continue working on legislation to create jobs and promote economic growth for Alaska small business and families. The week was filled with events including a visit to Kodiak for the annual Crab Festival. I was also able to pay my respects to Alaska’s lost fishermen by participating in the annual Fishermen’s Memorial ceremony. When I got back to Anchorage I had the honor of speaking at Anchorage’s Memorial Day events. The clear skies made it an amazing day to honor our veterans and active military personnel at the Korean War memorial and at Fort Richardson’s National Cemetery. I spoke to the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce and to a group of 200 students at the Alaska Jobs Corps campus in Palmer. There I answered questions about the future of Alaska, my role as a senator and what music I have on my iPod. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me through my website and offices.

Sincerely,
Digital Signature
Senator Mark Begich
