There will be a teleconference tie-in to the North Pacific Fishery Management Council Outreach meeting at the AEB office in Sand Point, Tuesday May 13 @10:30AM. The teleconference portion of the meeting should be about 90 minutes.
The topic will be the Council’s proposed program: Gulf of Alaska Trawl Bycatch Management. There may be teleconference participants at the King Cove harbor, False Pass City office and the Anchorage AEB office. Documents used in any presentations during the meeting may be found at www.aebfish.org
This meeting will be broadcasted on KSDP so tune in if you cannot attend.
Aleutia is looking for a responsible, upbeat, detail-oriented person to manage the Sand Point office. This is a permanent part-time position.
As the Aleutia office manager you will be Aleutia’s first point of contact and handle a wide variety of duties. Your duties will include processing fish tickets, staying on top of filing necessary paperwork at the state and federal level, organizing our database, following up with customers and most importantly assisting Aleutia fishermen.
This is a fun job that offers plenty of variety, a great deal of independence. It requires critical thinking skills and a real commitment to the community.

NPFMC member Ed Dersham, staff Sam Cunningham and ADFG Federal Fisheries Coordinator Nicole Kimball are coming to Sand Point for an ‘outreach’ meeting May 13 and 14. We will begin meeting on May 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the AEB Offices. All three of the Council representatives will be available for a workshop discussion of the latest motion. This will take place at the AEB Office.
Trawl By-catch Quota and creating a Co-Op to manage the quotas will be some of the topics discussed!
KSDP will be teleconferencing these talks as made available, so be sure to tune in if you cannot attend!
Bigwave Dave hosted Senator Begich in an excellent discussion on upcoming changes to Federal fishing regulations and the advancement of Tribal Sovereignty in criminal matters. Big issues, not a conversation you want to miss!

With all your wonderful baked creations and donations, and your support in buying these items, you helped us earn $687 at the Close Up Easter Bake Sale. We also want to say an special thank you to Mary Ann Mobeck and John Gardner for providing the many Easter bread and doughnuts We hope you all had a fantastic Easter and school vacation.
