Kells Hetherington talks with Bob Sanford about the Essential Air Service program that US Senator John McCain of Arizona is trying to terminate through an amendment to the FAA Reauthorization Act.  Bob Sanford is president and owner of Island Air in Kodiak, Alaska.  The Essential Air Service program provides annual subsidies worth more than two hundred million dollars to airlines flying to rural airports in thirty five states and more than twelve million dollars to 44 Alaska routes.
