A Message From The Principal

Hi all,
We are just completing another exciting week at the Sand Point School. Sunday was family pictures, and that was followed up with school pictures on Monday. On Wednesday, we had a K-9 drug dog demonstration assembly. It was an excellent assembly that informed students on how a drug dog is trained, along with demonstrations on sniffing out drugs. Students also learned that this K-9 does a lot more than find drugs, he also is trained at search and rescue, cadavers, officer protection, etc. We also conducted a locker and building drug search earlier in the week, and I am pleased to announce that no actual drugs were found. We thank the Sand Point Police department for providing this learning experience for our students.

At present we have the volleyball team playing in a tournament at Bristol Bay. We are seeing great progress with this young team as was demonstrated at the Sand Point competitions last week.  Also, the wrestling team is in Anchorage at the ACS tournament. We are expecting great things from both of our teams. GO EAGLES!

Pen Pals for 6th Graders

The 6th graders now have pen pals from Talence in France. We will be writing our introduction letters to them this week. We are very excited to learn about where they live and tell them all about Sand Point.
