Press Release Says, Governor to Sign Izembek State Game Refuge, Fisheries Loan Bills

August 18, 2010, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell will sign House Bill 210 and House Bill 20 in Anchorage on Thursday.

HB 210, sponsored by Representative Bryce Edgmon, authorizes a land exchange with the federal government for a road corridor through the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge to provide road access between King Cove and Cold Bay. The legislation designates state land and waters in Kinzarof Lagoon as part of the Izembek State Game Refuge.

House Bill 20, sponsored by Representatives Bryce Edgmon and Bob Buch, allows a larger number of Alaskan fishermen to obtain loans through the Commercial Fishing Revolving Loan Fund to upgrade their vessels for fuel efficiency.
