CONCERNED ALASKANS DEMAND OVERSIGHT FROM DNR

A group of concerned Alaskans will rally tomorrow (Thursday) in support of Bristol Bay, the last great wild salmon fishery on earth.

It was just days ago that Pebble’s developers were fined and had their permits temporarily suspended after it was discovered that they had committed 45 violations over the past three years.  The group is demanding oversight from the Department of Natural Resources, who has failed to notice and/or enforce what few regulations even exist in that region.

WHO: Concerned Alaskans, subsistence families, commercial fishermen, sport fishermen, and others who depend on the resources of Bristol Bay.

WHERE: In front of the Atwood Building (DNR Mining HQ), 550 W 7th Ave

WHEN:  Tomorrow (Thurs), Feb 18 2010 from 12pm to 1pm.
