“The RCA called this meeting to hear from utilities about their contingency plans in the event of a shortage of natural gas this winter,” said Senator Wielechowski. “Last winter, Southcentral narrowly averted a major crisis, when we almost lost our gas supply during the coldest days of the year. We need to make sure the utilities have backup plans to deal with a potential short-term interruption in the gas supply.”
The public meeting of the RCA begins at 9:00 am tomorrow at the Commission’s offices, in Suite 300 of 701 West 8th Avenue, Anchorage.
