SAND POINT COMMERCIAL SALMON FISHERY ANNOUNCEMENT # 24

For Emergency Order #4-FS-M-SP-27-10 #4-FS-M-SP-28-10

Commercial salmon fishing will be allowed in the Shumagin Islands portion of the Southeastern District for 37 hours from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010. In addition, commercial salmon fishing in the Aleutian Islands Area will be allowed for 48 hours from noon Wednesday, August 4 until noon Friday, August 6, 2010.

All closed waters in the above locations will be as described in the regulation book or as adjusted by emergency order. Fishermen and processors must register with the ADF&G office in Sand Point or Dutch Harbor before commencing operations. Processors are reminded that harvest reports must be provided to the ADF&G office in Sand Point and Cold Bay by 10:00 a.m. daily, even if no salmon were harvested. Statistical charts and harvest strategies are available at the Sand Point, Cold Bay, and Port Moller Fish and Game offices. Salmon fishery announcements will be broadcast on VHF channels 6 and 73 daily at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and may also be obtained from ADF&G in Sand Point at 383-2334 (383-ADFG).
