Download PDF Flyer.

The Sand Point Sample has PSP Toxin levels of 51 micrograms and is under the FDA limit of 80 micrograms. These are Consumable PSP levels.

The Recreational Shellfish Pilot Program is funded through the State of Alaska. The State of Alaska funds at least five communities from Alaska, in which they help monitor occurrence and distribution of PSP toxins that will increase communities’ capacities in devising a mechanism to better respond to the threat and minimize the risk of poisoning. The samples are analyzed by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation using approved analytical methods. The State of Alaska is producing funding for the Sand Point Spit Beach PSP testing until the summer of 2015.
