**COVID-19 HEALTH MANDATE**
Issued: March 20, 2020
By: Governor Mike Dunleavy
Commissioner Adam Crum, Alaska Department of Health and Social Services
Dr. Anne Zink, Chief Medical Officer, State of Alaska
To prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the State of Alaska is issuing its eighth health mandate based on the authority under the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration signed by Governor Mike Dunleavy on March 11, 2020.
Given the increasing concern for new cases of COVID-19 around Alaska, the purpose of this mandate is to limit all close contacts (people outside of a family unit) to be farther than six feet from each other to prevent the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Mandate 8.1 – State of Alaska – Public and Private Schools
Public and private schools are closed to students through May 1, 2020. Students will receive instruction through distance delivery methods. All after school activities will be suspended during this time.
These are measures to protect Alaskans. We appreciate the public’s understanding of this mandate in an effort to mitigate this virus.

Finishing off day one of the 1A Aleutian Chain Girls Regionals with another great game from your Sand Point Lady Eagles. Trailing early, Sand Point tries hard to fight back on the back foot; unfortunately the lead for the Tanalian Lynx continued to grow right up until the end of the game. This ends the Sand Point Lady Eagles’ tournament run, and their 2020 season. Let’s hear it for your Sand Point Lady Eagles!
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (39) Vs. Port Alsworth Tanalian Lynx (63) – Girls
Kicking off the 1A Aleutian Chain Girls Regionals with a nail bitter of a game where Sand Point trailed by the smallest of margins against the Manokotak Lady Lynx for the vast majority of the game and set the tone for a very exciting tournament. Unfortunately the Lady Eagles were unable to close the gap and, after running into some foul trouble, were unable to come away with a victory at the beginning of this tournament. The Sand Point Lady Eagles will continue their tournament run later this evening with a match from the loser’s bracket.
Final Score: Sand Point Lady Eagles (39) Vs. Manokotak Lady Lynx (43) – Girls
Final Score: King Cove T-Jacks (81) Vs. Manokotak Lynx (50)
After a close first quarter where King Cove led by one basket, the T-Jacks managed to gradually build up momentum through the entirety of the game; stacking up points until they had an insurmountable lead on the Lynx.
