Dolgoi Island Area Restricted for Upcoming Opener – July 2018
Fishing for Area M will be open as scheduled for 36-hours beginning 6:00am, July 14th and closing at 6:00pm July 15th.
The important note is that certain sections of the Dolgoi Island Management Area will be restricted.
Regulations call for this to occur when and estimated harvest of 180,000 fish has occurred. So far less than 20,000 fish have been harvested in the 2018 salmon season.

Fish and Game Announces Second 40-Hour Restricted Opener for Area M – June 2018
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has announced a second restricted opener for the final fishing period of June 2018. Seine and Drift gear types will be open for 40 hours beginning Monday, June 25 at 6:00am and closing 40-hours later at 10:00pm, June 26.
Set Gill Net gear types will be allowed to fish 40-hours beginning Wednesday, June 27 at 6:00am and closing Thursday, June 28 at 10:00pm

The Alaska Depart of Fish and Game has released their report with regulatory justification for its unprecedented restrictions for the Area M June Fishery.

The Sand Point Teen Center is hiring to fill a vacant position to work evenings.
Days/hours needed: Monday-Wednesday-Friday.
Winter hours: Weekdays 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Weekends: 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Summer hours: 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (summer hours begins when school is out)
Hourly wage: $18 per hour

Mark your calendars! The 11th Urban Unangax Culture Camp will be held the week of June 11, 2018 at APIA’s Unangam Ulaa! The camp closing ceremony will be held in at the annual Aleut Picnic hosted by the Aleut Foundation on June 16, from 12 to 3pm, at the Aleut Plaza. Applications are due May 28th.
Youth classes are June 11– 15, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Children’s classes are June 11 – 15, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Adult classes are June 11 – 15, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
This year, in the application is a fillable PDF. There is no need to print off the application and sign. You can simply click the check boxes in place of your signature.
