Tire Removal Project – October 3rd & 4th

The Pauloff Harbor Tribe’s Environmental Department is hosting a community tire removal project.

 

Come on down to the First Gear Shed on October 3rd and October 4th between 1-5pm to help them palletize tires for a back haul.

Opioid Task Force – October 16th

On Tuesday, October 16th, there will be a meeting of the Opioid Task Force in Anchorage. The meeting will help to show the current treatment options available, harm reduction activities, and what is still needed here on the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands.

The meeting will take place at the Coast International Inn in Anchorage.

Aleutians East Borough Surplus Auction by Sealed Bid

The date of the sale will be October 8, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the Borough’s Anchorage Office located at 3380 C Street, Suite 205, Anchorage, Alaska.

Bidders are encouraged to inspect the items prior to the sale. The item is located in King Cove as indicated on the bid item information sheet that is attached.

The item is offered for sale “as is,” where is, and no warranties or guarantees of any kind are made or implied. The successful bidder will be required to remove the item within sixty (60) days. The Borough reserves the right to reject any bid. Bid deposits of unsuccessful bidders will be returned within three (3) business days.

Auction Instructions

– Write the item number and the amount of the bid on a piece of paper.
– Only personal checks, money orders or certified checks will be accepted. NO CASH
BIDS are allowed. Make checks payable to the Aleutians East Borough.
– One bid per envelope. Include your name, address and telephone number inside the
envelope.
– Submit sealed bids to the Borough’s Anchorage office by October 8, 2018 by 3:00 P.M.

Sand Point Cultural Sampler – October 4th

Junior High Basketball Event vs King Cove – September 24 & 25

Games begin at 6pm, and there will be fundraiser foods for sale.

Be sure to come on down and support your junior high students.

8th Annual End of Summer Clean Up

On Saturday, September 22nd, be sure to come on down to the Sand Point City Gym at 11:45 for gloves, trash bags, and to be entered into the prize drawing in preparation for the End of Summer Clean Up from 12-3pm!

There will be a barbecue and prize drawings immediately following the clean up.

Please come on down and keep Sand Point clean!

Celebration of Life Services – Marilyn Larsen – Friday, September 21st

There is a Celebration of Life service for Marilyn Larsen Friday, September 21st. Viewing begins at 1pm, and services will follow at 2pm at the Sand Point Baptist Chapel.

A Graveside Memorial will follow after services, and a celebration of life potluck will follow at the Sand Point City Gym.

Region 1 Cross Country Race

Sand Point School is hosting the Region 1 Cross Country Race on Thursday, September 20th, 2018.

There will be a tailgate beginning at 2:30pm with music, food for sale, and eagle spirit gear for sale before the race at 3pm.

Come on down and cheer on your Eagle runners!

Please note: the school will be following it’s early release schedule on both Thursday and Friday in order to accommodate the run.

Open House at Sand Point School

There will be an open house at the Sand Point School tonight, September 18th, from 6pm until 7pm.

Parents can use this as a time to touch base with teachers and get involved in their student’s learning.
