Kells Hetherington interviews Alaska state Senator Lyman Hoffman about the start of the 2011 legislative session. The discussion covers the prospect of domestic violence legislation based on the University of Alaska Anchorage Justice Center’s recent domestic violence report to the legislature; Senator Hoffman’s reaction to legislation offered by Governor Sean Parnell to reduce the state’s oil and gas production tax and increase investment credits; and Senator Hoffman’s thoughts about the need for legislation to clarify state election law in the wake of the 2010 Alaska US Senate race. Senator Hoffman is co-chairman of the state senate finance committee.
